A
Klargester BioDisc Plant
|
Shall I use a BioDisc or other
Treatment System
The
quality of effluent from a treatment plant is much cleaner than that
produced by a septic
tank. If there is a low porous sub soil (see
How does a Soakaway Work) then a good quality effluent from a
treatment plant may be necessary to discharge to a water course or
other facility.
A
septic tank is a basic system to use and if there is good sub soil
permeability then a septic tank may be a better choice due to its
simplicity. With the growing awareness of our environment more of our
customers are preferring to install treatment plants. The risk of
damaging your soakaway will also be reduced as you are discharging an
almost clear effluent.
If
you sub soil is porous near the surface but is less porous with depth
then it may be possible to install an effluent pump on the outlet of
the treatment plant. This pump unit will then allow the treated
effluent to be discharged at a high level into the more porous sub
soil. A Klargester BioDisc as well as other treatment plant
manufacturers can be fitted with
internal effluent pumps.
